This pack insulates the water so it stays (relatively) cool while biking or hiking all day in the summer. You can refill without taking out the reservoir, which is convenient for water fountains and sinks found along the way.

The only issue I really have with it is that the zipped pocket shapes are not functional. The pockets may hold 4 L if you fill them with beads (which is how they measure it at the factory) but you can't really squish your tools, chapstick, and lunch down into that little space. And the internal dividers on the pockets are silly---why divide a pocket that's so small when you can't even fit anything into all the dividers simultaneously??

I added elastic cord to hold a jacket, which has made a huge difference in my ability to use this pack.

I wish I would have bought one that was slightly larger (since the volume is inaccurate due to pocket shape/construction), but this may work for you if you're a minimalist and/or have other storage space on your bike (or in your hiking partner's pack).

I love it

I use this pretty much everywhere. Even if I'm just sitting around with friends. Holds so much water. Keeps it cool which makes up for the first initial bit of warm water you get from the hose being in the sun. But that can be fixed by getting the cover for the hose. I also wish it had a bit more storage space, but I can still carry what I need for festivals, camping, days out with friends, biking
