I took my new 25x70s out for a brief spin one night and ended up staying six hours, scrutinizing everything I could aim them at. Some glorious views of th Orion Neb. among others. The optics are more than average for the money; to that I can attest, being a binocularist since the early seventies. Celestron always made good ones and I was fearful of their manufacture in China that the quality would be severly affected. I spent years with a Celestron 11x80 on every astro. excursion and here there was no noticeable dropoff in image reproduction. Alberio shone through both color-wise and distance-split quite nicely. Even at 25-power, M33 was not too difficult. M31, 101 were stupendous; perhaps because the sky was really dark there, I made out more than a hint of the spiral. It caught me off guard at little. Like the first time almost!
Pros:
Like back in the day
Cons:
Not waerproof
Best Used for:
Either astronomy or long distance terrestrial
Would recommend: Yes
