I have used Chaco's for 23 years and running. I started with their original river sandal. Now I mostly use their flip flops. I have used the flip flops that have their original sole, but my feet (toes) had to build up to the weight of the flip. This pair is lighter and wears more like a typical flip. However, I would not use this flip on a light hike. More casual and good for anything waterside.

If you are expecting the sturdy, robust, and well made Chaco sandals you know, love, and find in the stores, look elsewhere. These things feel like grocery store end-cap flip flops. I've had many pairs of Chacos and these just feel cheap and inferior. For $40 you can get a lot better made flip flop.
Pros:
Decent Arch Support
Cons:
Feel Cheap
Best Used for:
Wasting $40
