I bought the Mente 32L because I was looking for a backpack that I could use for short trips ~3-4 days. I have a Cotopaxi Allpa 42L that I use for multi-week trips. I pack light. The Mente has a traditional backpack lay out (vs. the Allpa which zips all the way open). I went this route so I could use the Mente for trips or as a day pack. So far, I've used it for 3 day trips and it's been excellent. There are three compartments and between them, you can organize your stuff well. I use the laptop section for my computer but it's really generous so you can fit a lot more than just a computer. If I had any feedback it would be to make the laptop section a bit smaller and the main compartment larger. I end up putting clothes plus an extra pair of shoes in the main compartment, toiletries and things I need easy access to in the outside compartment, and my laptop, charger and other flat-ish things in the back compartment. The two stretchy side pockets are also generous and hold water bottles, and other essentials you want to get to easily.

For longer trips, I do prefer the open zip lay out of the Allpa but for the flexibility, the Mente is the way to go for shorter trips plus the option to use as a day pack.
