I can't believe danner put their name on this - Danner Mountain Light II 5in Hiking Shoes - Men's

Harold's Review of Danner Mountain Light II 5in Hiking Shoes - Men's
So... Received the boot in outstanding time, thanks to Campsaver for the quick shipping. That's the good news.
The bad news?
1) There's some kind of weird flap over the tongue. I imagine it's supposed to keep crud out of the boot. When you snug the boot up, that flap puckers up and makes a wonderful entrance funnel for anything and everything you walk through.
2) The leather looks and feels like plastic. Don't know what it's treated with, but I give it zero likelihood of breathing at all. Couple that with the Gore-Tex lining and I predict this boot will turn your foot into a steamy swamp.
3) It's too small. I wear a size 12 Danner boot almost every day for work. The Mountain Light II is a full size SHORTER than the size 12 Danner Work Boots I use on a daily basis.
These are going back.
Pros:
None that I can think of.
Cons:
Inconsistent sizing, poor design
Best Used for:
Nothing I can think of.
Would Recommend:
No
