Not the boot for me
Despite ordering a "wide" EE, this boot would be a torture device to wear. Boots need to be broken in I get it, but one should not be in agony while doing so.. I have a wide foot and a high arch. The part sawing at my achilles tendon / back of my leg would have broken ME before I broke it. A shame s...

I can't believe Danner put their name on this
So... Received the boot in outstanding time, thanks to Campsaver for the quick shipping. That's the good news.
The bad news?
1) There's some kind of weird flap over the tongue. I imagine it's supposed to keep crud out of the boot. When you snug the boot up, that flap puckers up and makes a wonderful entrance funnel for anything and everything you walk through.
2) The leather looks and feels like plastic. Don't know what it's treated with, but I give it zero likelihood of breathing at all. Couple that with the Gore-Tex lining and I predict this boot will turn your foot into a steamy swamp.
3) It's too small. I wear a size 12 Danner boot almost every day for work. The Mountain Light II is a full size SHORTER than the size 12 Danner Work Boots I use on a daily basis.
These are going back.

"Best on Earth"
I usely wear Zamberlan hiking boots and thought I would give these a try due to the classic look and construction. It has taken about a week to break them in but well worth it. They truly fit like a glove.

Hiking Boot
Out of the box, the boot hurt my feet and they needed to be broken in -- which was expected. However, what wasn't expected was how low cut they were. I prefer boots that provide ankle support and the tops of these boots are about the same height as my ankle and therefore really don't provide the support I am used to. I'll give them try but am not very hopeful.
