Deuter Attack 20

Overall I love this pack. The attack 20 replaced a CameBak HAWK. I wanted another HAWG but after examining the new version I moved on to Deuter. The only negative I can say about this pack is that it's heavy. Even when the crash pad removed the biking weight weanies will not like this one. Now on to the good stuff. The Attack has well padded and formed shoulder straps as well padded waist belt. This is the most comfortable hydration pack I've ever worn. It's a cozy and rides great. Plenty of adjustment in the shoulder straps and has load straps as well. For me organization was a big reason I went with the Attack. There is a large compartment on the outside of the pack that has plenty of room for my bike tools I ride with. Among the tools is a set of tire levers, patch kit, extra tube, chain tool, multi tool, and CO2 inflator with extra CO2's. Under this pocket is a zippered pocket that contains the helmet stash pouch. Besides using it for your helmet I plan to use it to hold wet hiking clothes. It's plenty large enough to hold an extra fleece for hiking. Below the helmet pouch it the rain fly. Deuter Attack 20

SWEET ... pack :L)
I have used the Camelbak TransAlp, HAWG and Rogue for the last 15 years. The deuter designs have a stiffer suspension and heavier overall feel on your back, but remain very comfortable. The pack construction is excellent; as good as camelbak or better. I do not ride downhill; more all mountain but I have been using the pack with the shield pad in place ... the pack is stiffer with it in but still flexible. The organizational design of the pack is very functional. Deuter has elected to tie the outer pouches directly to the main compartment without the standard clam-shell stash between. This is a more technical approach leaving the pack tighter to your back with less weight shift.
Overall: VERY SWEET pack ! :L)
