This was my first backpack - I did all the research that I could, but at some point you have to get your hands on the real thing and use it in the backcountry. No, this is not an ultralight or even a lightweight pack, but with the materials used this pack will probably outlive me. Incredibly robust, lots of thoughtful details and storage solutions. With Deuter's fit system, the balance and weight distribution still amaze me every time I put this on. For the money, you cannot go wrong with this pack.
