I purchased this backpack because I like deuter a lot. My daypack is a airlite 28 and I love that pack. I actually used it last winter. I would put my snowshoes in the stretch pocket on the back. That worked but I like the compression straps on the freerider to carry my snowshoes this coming winter. I like the access of getting into your pack from the back and the fleece lined pocket for goggles. The only thing I wish deuter would do is have a built in insulation pocket on the shoulder strap to run my hydration tube in to keep my mouthpiece and tube from freezing.

Great bag for snowshoes

I bought this specifically to carry my snowshoes and its great. Has a lot of good features and is a good side to hold all i need for a winter day hike. Doesn’t have a rain cover which my other Deuters have but that’s the only negative.

great bag, arrived fast

After I'd returned a previous (different) bag, Campsaver delivered a new one faster than expected. Couldn't be happier with the bag, came as advertised (which I thought it might not, since the bag has been discontinued by Deuter), but they sent the right one, at a great price. Bag is perfect.

Backpack Backcountry

Heavier than expected but, very sturdy and will hold a lot of equipment while backcountry skiing. Planning on using this to carry skis and ski boots along with miscellaneous items. Looking forward to putting this backpack to good use.

Received it recently. Looks great. Unfortunately there is no snow on the East Coast. Going to Jackson Hole during XMAS and can't wait to use it.
