Yay - No More Soggy Food
We picked up the CFX-50 for our weekend trips. It's been a game changer. The best part is that our things don't ever get soggy from melted ice - yay! I was a little nervous at first because it runs off of the car's 12V outlet, but after doing some research apparently it's designed to prioritize the car's batter over the cooler compressor in a low power situation. We took the leap and haven't had any issues in 6 months.
Another neat thing is keeping our trip food organized and cold from the moment we go shopping. We load it up at the grocery store then bring the whole cooler inside the house. It has an AC plug too so we plug it into the wall outlet while we finish packing. It's been nice saving the fridge space and not forgetting anything during the food transfer. No more - "Yarrr - I forgot the eggs!"
My only con is that it doesn't open like a chest cooler, but we learned to pack the truck a little differently. Maybe Dometic will read this and offer an option.
