Most Helpful Positive Review Second Dometic fridge
I like these so much, I bought a second (smaller one). The larger one is in our RV conversion, but wanted a smaller one for the longer car road trips. This is perfect. Like the App integration to check on your fridge temp and power consumption without having to look at the controls on the fridge. The only real complaint if I had to have one is that the racks rattle like crazy when the fridge is empty. Would have been nice if Dometic had done a nicer job on adding some rubber insulators where the cages meet.

Fantastic product & service!

by Whitney, from CO, United States Written on August 2, 2022
Fantastic on all fronts: 1) CampSaver processed our order quickly & had the cooler shipped out very promptly, thank you. 2) Product arrived in perfect condition. 3) The cooler is awesome and packs more than we’d assume! Example) for my wife and I, we have the CFX3-35 fitted to the slide rack in the back of our Sub Outback, it’s hooked up to a Goal Zero Yeti 500 that charges from the car’s 12v or 100w solar panels. For a 5 day trip, with mostly sunny conditions, stored in a hot car we ran the cooler at 37F. The cooler ran efficiently and we maintained ~80% charge on the battery while running the cooler, recharging the camps phones, GPS, & flashlights; with better panel management, fewer clouds, or using the battery for nothing else, we’d probably have kept the battery fully charged. While our camp mates were making ice runs to refill ice chests, we were playing. Also great, since there’s no ice, we packed the cooler tight and easily fit as much in the cooler as we could into a comparably sized ice chest (1 gallon chili, 4 lbs salmon, 4 lbs brisket, 2quarts rice, 2 wine bottles, 1dozen eggs, 6-8 cans, tortillas, butter, 2liters water). Unpacking is a cinch, pull the basket out and take it inside to unload, wipe down the cooler, drop in a desiccant pack, and you’re done.
Pros:
  • Efficient
  • quiet
  • Convenient
Cons:
  • Expensive
Best Used for:
  • Car / base camping
  • Van life

Good to go

by George, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on July 25, 2021
Very nice fridge at Campsaver great price. Using as second fridge running off 12v in camper van. Quiet and efficient. Not heavy when empty. Feels solid enough even if not as thick as a comparable RTIC or Yeti rotomolder. Removable baskets a good touch. Easy to recommend.

Best in the game

by Professional Dirtbag, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on June 21, 2021
You pay for what you get with Dometic. It’s a solid item with quality all around. It’s just the right size to fit in the back of my Forester and easily has enough space for anything I would need to hold me over until I can make it to the store. I haven’t tried to freeze anything yet but the cooling works great. Basically having a portable fridge is the best of both worlds. This cooler is going to be perfect for my big road trip!
Pros:
  • beautiful design
  • works as advertised
  • high tech
  • great accessories
Cons:
  • Expensive
Best Used for:
  • Camping
  • road trips

The possibilities

by Chris, from CA, United States Written on June 8, 2021
I can't believe this thing runs for 13+ hours on a 166wh battery. This is just enough for a day trip to the beach or a picnic. You want to plug it in to the wall to cool it, that way less of the battery is being utilized. My 13+ hour claim is without it being cooled, so it will last longer.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • A bit heavy
  • Can scratch easily.
Best Used for:
  • picnics
  • Camping with small solar setup.

Portable fridge

by Chris, from CA, United States Written on May 31, 2021
I really like my new toy. No matter how much I justify the purchase I really can't, although not having to go to the store for forgotten ice is a nice convenience. Ice coolers can get your food wet but can be easily be carried and will last most 3 day trips. A portable fridge is heavy but will keep food and drinks very cold for as long as you have a charged battery.
Pros:
  • Looks awesome
  • Sips power, 166wh battery runs it for 12+ hours.
Cons:
  • Pricy
  • Outer finish will show all scratches
  • More of a convenience than necessity
  • No easy option to add wheels
Best Used for:
  • Car camping with a portable battery
  • Family picnics with a portable battery
