With a DOMETIC's cooler price, its kind of unfortunate that this cover isn't included. That aside though, it is a necessity to have to further protect your investment, supporting the longevity of the cooler. The black color does help keep the cooler low-key, which is great for any overlanding vehicle that is suspecting of being equipped with overlanding products.

So I recently upgraded to the new CFX3 45 from my old CFX 40. The old one had Dometics insulating cover on it, which was very helpful in keeping the cords and accessories organized and readily available. When I got the CFX3, not having a cover made me nervous, as I didnt want the pretty new fridge to get all beat up sitting with all of my tools or gear. I managed to find this cover on sale, and at the best price through Campsaver over their Labor Day sale and could not be happier! This zips together tightly over the CFX3 there is room for extra accessories, cords and they all stay with the fridge as opposed to being stored separately, sometimes causing them to get lost or forgotten. It has holes cut out for all the vents, handles and screen. 10/10 would buy again for the peace of mind. Dometic doesn't offer an insulating cover, leading me to believe that the new CFX3 series has better insulation, so having the protective barrier, even if it provides the slightest increase in efficiency is still worth it! the case is good looking and well made and fit precisely to the fridge. It's fairly thin but still provides some extra insulation. There is a small pocket which I put a bottle opener and some trash bag in. I wish it has a big enough pocket to store the cables.

The Dometic Cfx3 45 is an excellent cooler and has a very solid build. Kept our wine, beer, other beverages and snacks at a perfect temp during our 3 day weekend on the road. I’d also recommend the protective cover which is also super high quality.

This refrigerator is very efficient in the 100+ temperature we have been experiencing while I’ve had it . Set at 34 it has been under .8AH . Approximately 4 3.amp draws for 30 seconds every hour . The initial drop down to 34 took approximately 10-15 minutes.

Nice cover to protect and insulate my Dometic electric refrigerator. Well made, snug enough fit and should last for years. Always a great deal from Campsaver with their 20% off specials! Really, I absolutely have to write 200 words?
