Wish I would have bought this long ago. My wife is my belay partner and I weigh a bit more than her and jerk her off the ground during a fall and using a normally tubular belay device was always dicey. This adds a little extra security without going full mechanical belay. Works great with my 9.8mm rope. I was worried about ease of use but the thumb loop is set up perfectly, if you have been belaying with a tubular belay this will be second nature.

  • Simplicity of tubular belay but better.
