I saw other reviews where the person got a nasty, used stove, so I made sure I took it out and tried it right away. At first the first ignitor wouldn't light. I tried like 3 times. That was an uh oh. But then I tried the second burner and it lit fine. I went back to the first burner and that lit fine, too! I haven't actually cooked anything on it yet, but it does seem very simple to use. I love the simmer ability, it's so annoying when you can't get the flame down to simmer something. I'm only going to use this for emergencies where the power is out, but I feel way more secure now that I have this. I can make coffee and eggs first thing in the morning no matter if the power is out or not! Love it!
