Most Helpful Positive Review Good tent, but set up harder
I replaced a 30 year old timberline with this one. The SQ frame provides some extra head room, but I could not figure out how to attach the fly to the spreader piece. The pockets in the fly were not far enough apart to install slip in the spreader piece. I sent an email to Eureka asking for advice, but no response in two weeks.

As a Scoutmaster for the past 50 years we have used the Ureka Timberline Outfitter for 20 years. This tent fills the need in all situations. We have encountered severe weather many times and have never lost a tent to high wind causing the tent to tear or leak. Word up to all Scout leaders. These are four man tents. Only let two kids stay in a tent as more than two gives the scouts room to wrestle in the tent. We learned the hard way as to what kind of damage this will cause to a tent! Stay safe, be alert!
Pros:
  • Quality, waterproofing, tear resistant with in reason.
Cons:
  • Hard to assemble unless trained!
Best Used for:
  • Any recreation activity

Eureka Timberline SQ Outfitter 4 Tent

Every summer I lead a group of youth and adults into the Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada. This summer will mark my 21st trip. Our group has been using the Eureka Timberline Outfitter 4 tent for every trip. We have some tents that have been going for nearly 18 years. The tent is easy to set up, durable, and is made out of good quality materials. While you can find many other tents cheaper, I highly recommend this tent to anyone needing a solid tent. You get what you pay for.
