Most Helpful Positive Review I'd marry these approach shoes....
....if I could. I've owned 5-10s, Scarpas and these are, hands down, my favorite approach shoes for serious scrambling. They're sticky and very minimalistic, which is great for squeezing feet into tight spaces. My ankles have a tendency to roll quite easily and that doesn't happen in these shoes. I was nervous about feeling sharp rocks through the shoes and that has never been the case. The only thing these aren't good for are long/all-day hikes with a heavy pack - and the canvas tends to not hold up so well after about 8+ hikes of high class scrambling....but that's a small price to pay for t...

I like the shoe, but the run small and narrow

by Paddy, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on June 4, 2019
A size 12 mens medium typically fits me perfectly. These were small and very narrow. I like the design and the weight was perfect. The canvas looked like it would be durable. I'm sad they didn't fit. Next size up was no longer available.

Cut like true approach scrambling shoe

by Michael, from NY, United States Written on January 25, 2019
I was hoping to use these for camp/hut/town and break from boots on long hut trips. They are cut very tight - for no socks or thin socks - the intention is scrambling. I'm going to exchange for larger size and have to decide whether going up a half size will do it or up a whole size. They seem well made and design is hip. Just know that they are cut tight/small like a climbing shoe.
Pros:
  • nice design, light
Cons:
  • very snug if intent is other than climbing

Light and comfortable

by barbless, Verified Owner from ID, United States Written on July 6, 2018
It has taken a couple of wearings to break in the canvas, but these are very comfortable now. I sized them normally and found they are smaller than typical shoes - they fit perfectly without socks. Plenty of width up front, no heal slip, split tongue is very comfortable. Would make a great packable travel shoe.

Comfortable!

by Outdoors in MA, from MA, United States Written on October 15, 2017
I bought these to replace an old pair of the same shoes. They are super comfy and hold up very well. I wear them before & after climbing, both indoors and out. The men's fit just as well as women's, and the men's 7 corresponds to women's 8/8.5. Great price on CampSaver.

Evolv Cruzer Approach Shoe

by Dusty, from IL, United States Written on September 26, 2017
I use this shoe primarily for buildering/urban climbing. It is supportive and functional; it has a clean, crisp edge on the toe and heel and fits well. Not the most comfortable shoe in the world, but the intent is not for comfort but functionality. A good, versatile shoe for casual climbers.

Evolv Cruzer

by Marion S., Verified Owner Written on July 18, 2017
I recently used my Cruzers and was generally impressed with the shoes. As advertised, the shoes serve a multi purpose roll as an approach shoe and are stylish enough to wear out on the town with shorts or slacks. On rock, I was particularly impressed with how sticky the soles were. The soles are very sticky and performed excellent on easy 5th class rock. The Cruzers are a minimalist shoe; very light weight but where you save on weight you give up on cushion. They are great going up, especially clipped to a harness, but coming down I feel like my knees took a beating; but that's the trade off. None the less it beats having to walk down in your climbing shoes or lug a bulky pair of approach shoes. I cannot comment on the durability as they are too new but they seem to be well stitched and put together for a canvas shoe. I am very pleased with the shoe and would recommend them to anyone that does long multi pitch with a short approach (less than 2 miles). These are definitely not backpacking shoes unless you are conditioned for long distances in minimalist runners.
