Unfortunate experience with a great product and great company
The Orion offered exactly the features and functionality I was looking for. Campsaver's pricing on this model was aggressive and I ordered this tent with great expectations. I put it up in the living room immediately. Setup was a bit herky jerky the first time but I am confident that with practice it would be as smooth as in the videos. My first act was to tie back the vestibule door. As I went to insert the tie back on the door into the corresponding hold back loop, the loop broke in my hand with a modest pull. This was a shocking event for me and shook my confidence in the tent. I went on to explore all the other functionality and to test all other attachments (to the extent that one can do so in a living room). All else checked out. The tent promised to live well and the quality seemed top notch. But my first adventure was going to be a 90 day journey to some remote places and I could not get beyond the fact that my first experience was the failed loop. As much as I knew that this was likely an anomaly, and that I should be confident in the quality of the tent, I called Campsaver to see if they could replace it. I have to say that I could not have asked more than what I got from Campsaver. They immediately accepted responsibility for the tent and offered many different solutions, all of which were to my advantage. Unfortunately they were out of this model.
