Most Helpful Positive Review Mongrel Rain Protection, but best of breed
I recently purchased this "poncho" assuming that it was just that, a light weight poncho. After opening the package it was evident that the "poncho" was as much a cagoule as it was a poncho. The sides of the poncho are actually sewn together most of the way up and the arm openings have almost a sleeve like construction. This is not a bad thing since it should make wearing it in the wind less of a hassle. It does come in sizes which is a plus for me and the "sleeves" cover my arms completely, eliminating the need of another garment to keep my arms dry. The arm openings are also large enough to ...

Almost perfect

I like the color, the weight and the ease of use with a pack on. I do wish the sleeve length was greater as hands get cold fast and as a 5 foot 5 gal my lower arm is not well covered by the poncho even without a pack on.

Just makes sense

by Susan J., Written on June 21, 2017
Recently went on backpacking trip where it rained 3 out of 4 days. Everyone had rain jackets but I had a poncho. It covered me and my pack and prevented rain from soaking my back between the pack and me. When I got home I thought I would look for a nice lightweight packable poncho that allowed for the pack. This fits the bill. Really like the details like snaps at sleeves and one in the middle between legs. Prevents the poncho from flying up around you on a windy day!
Love it

I have had my fair

I have had my fair share of stoves over the years. Nothing compares to the ease of a Trangia. Old school? Yes. But they work every time, regardless of weather. Get one. As for the Trangia cookware, these pans are great for nonstick cooking. I have scraped clean enough aluminum pans in my past. Non stick is the way to go.
