Wears solid and comfortable. Measures 24" high by 12" wide by 8" deep for a volume of about 38 liters. The 8" deep is somewhat restrictive on what you can carry in some circumstances. This replaces my worn out Outdoor Research Dry Comp pack. Pretty thick material, I have no doubt it's waterproof. Exped says maximum load is about 28 pounds. That lower carrying weight might be an issue for some hikes. This will be my main pack for weekend hikes and carry-on for plane trips. It's nice to have a water proof pack. Takes the stress out of planning what to take if it might rain.
Pros:
Water proof
Cons:
depth
Best Used for:
wet outdoor activity, hunting, etc.
Would recommend: Yes

I purchased my first Exped torrent for a 100+ trip paddling down the Mississippi River. I considered it arguably the best gear purchase I've ever made. The pack will not allow water in [800 deniers], is comfortable to wear, has an internal storage pocket, and the external gear loops allow just about anything to be attached to it. Also, if not overloaded, it will float.
It can be a bit pricey but it is worth the expansive---I carried a laptop in it down the Mississippi!
Pros:
Comfortable
Cons:
Would like one other internal storage pocket
Best Used for:
anything outdoors
Would recommend: Yes
