Bought this for school but have subsequently used it on two trips. I pack light but it was large enough for me to pack clothes for 5 days. Also, I am short (5'1") and it does not look too big on me. I really like the side pockets too, and they stay pretty much closed, as does the top even if you don't buckle them.
