Bombproof Jacket
My favorite jacket. I'm good at breaking things and this jacket has held up really well. Very minimalist. No powder skirt but it does have elastic straps that you can lash to your belt. I think they actually function better. Big mesh dump pockets and pit vents. Little bit of stretch to the fabric. Zippers and all the cinch hardware are solid. Breaths well and the DWR is still good after 3 years.

Great Coat For Spring Skiing (and Winter's Revenge)
I bought this coat for a trip for some spring skiing in Whistler, as I didn't think I'd need my heavy, insulated ski coat. It was exactly what I had hoped for. Great wind and water protection - I wore it alone with a wool base layer. Would have had more than enough room for layering with bulkier layers. Even kept me comfortable when we got a surprise drop in the temps our last 2 days. Had a little trouble with the hood staying up over the helmet while skiing - but I think that is much more likely operator error.
I picked this up on a clearance sale, but it is a bargain at ANY price!
Hope this will be my "go to" for years and years.

Flylow Higgins - nice!
Well, the 2014-15 ski season here in the Inland Northwest (Eastern Washington) was pretty much a bust by mid February, but that didn't stop me from planning for next year. I purchased the Flylow Higgins (size large, Olive colorway) because I wanted a minimalist 3L shell at an affordable price. Every review I read about this jacket was positive, from its waterproof / breathability performance to its comfort, features, and styling. I went with a large based on other reviewers stats and at 5'9", 185 lbs, I think it was the right choice. My down vest fits easily underneath as a midlayer without making me look like an overfed Yeti. Although our season here was basically over when I placed my order, I was stoked to have found this jacket, and really stoked when it arrived sooner than expected. Of course I geeked out and immediately climbed into my ski pants and threw on the coat. I gotta say the kit looks good and I can't wait for next season.

Flylow Higgins snowboard jacket
Be under no illusions, this is a soft shell jacket and, despite being very well made and thoroughly waterproof and breathable, you will need layers underneath if you plan to wear this on v cold days. The jacket's made to be baggy so that shouldn't be a problem if you get the right size though; beautifully designed, the jacket is a thing of beauty and extremely good in all weathers and, being waterproof and breathable to 20,000mm gives it the versatility of being an excellent all-rounder. The jacket in the 'squash' colour, which is what I have it in, looks great in the flesh; would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a well made snowboard/skiing soft shell.
