This thing is great! - Garmin inReach Mini 2 GPS

There are several steps to go through during the initial set up but, after that, the inReach Mini 2 is extremely easy to use. It paired easily with my iPhone, the app is easy to use and the communication tools are great. Most of my backpacking trips are solo and the inReach made it easy to to let loved ones see where I was. I set it up to send tracking points at 10 minute intervals so they could follow along on my journey. Plus, I could send them a note or they could send me one. All easy. Press the power button and it comes to life and connects to your phone quickly. I went back and forth a little bit about getting the inReach Mini 2 or a larger unit that was less dependent on carrying my phone, too. After using it for a trip recently I know I made the right choice hands down.
