Works as Advertised

I used the Goal Zero Guardian 12V Plus charge controller to charge my RV batteries while boon docking and it works as advertised. it is nice not to have to run the generator to charge batteries. In addition it is quiet.
Pros:
  • No fuel
Cons:
  • Limted to 90 watts
  • Limited to 90 Watts
Best Used for:
  • Out door camping

Expands Goal Zero panell use

I bought this little controller to charge a 12 volt deep cycle battery (55 Ah) with a pair of Boulder 15 (approx. 30 watts) solar panels. Harvesting solar power, and meeting expectations can be a challenge. While car camping, I can now alternate charging a Yeti 150, or the large deep cycle.
Pros:
  • can be used with legacy panels with 4.7mm plugs.
Cons:
  • Monitoring required, to ensure charging is occurring.
Best Used for:
  • Expanding panel use beyond Goal Zero battery products.
