i bought my bag after about two or three months of researching similar, more expensive bags. in comparison to the helly hansen, north face base camp, patagonia bag and some various stuff on amazon the granite gear just kind of caught my eye. it went on sale at Campsaver and it was much less than any other site. I got the small duffel and my new grand trunk hammock for 55$ after shipment! I traveled with the GG duffel to DC for a week and Baltimore for a week. I was surprised at the amount of weight and material the bag can hold and remain relatively well-balanced. there are sever options and configurations for carrying. I prefer the backpack straps for medium heavy loads and the large shoulder strap for the heaviest loads. I filled my bag with prob 15-20 rolled shirts and six pairs of rolled pants, a few books and my toiletries. I couldn't find anywhere on the net which gave a good description of how much this could actually carry and this is the best description I can provide. it was pretty tightly packed, but even with crossing 5 different plane trips there were no scuffs, tears or stressed stitching. so far I am really pleased.
