Granite gear. Aji 50 backpack

I backpack fairly and infrequently but decided to upgrade my first pack. This pack is saving me 2.5 lb. I'm very happy about price I got on this pack and have tried it out only once at my house walking behind my lawn mower with a 35 pound load.I'm pretty skinny and it stayed on my hips well which my other pack will not do so I think it's going to work out good. I've only given it to 4 stars based on the fact that I haven't been able to use it backpacking yet and probably will not do that until next year. It held all my gear well & carried it nicely.Am pretty excited to be lightning my load without sacrificing durability.

Early impressions

It feels very lightweight and I like the easy access to all points in the main compartment. However, I am not sure I understand the benefits of the straps held together on top of the main compartment with fabric showing the 'Aji' logo. Would have liked the front compartment to have a zippered top to hold gear when I am rappelling.

Well designed and made

The zipper design lets me access anything I need,without having to unload the pack. Like my other Granite Gear products it is a quality product that will hold up to the rigors of the trail.

very well made comfortable pack

Very good pack, extremely comfortable. For me personally I like the frame taken out with loads of no more than 25lbs. My only compliant is that I thought I'd prefer the full length zipper to access gear but it turns out I find topopenings much easier to pack.

Best of both worlds

This pack is the perfect fusion for someone who is looking for logical, easy access to their gear yet doesn't like or use pockets. Full round zipper allows complete access to gear while not compromising weight. Also for a frame free pack it is suprisingly comfortable and load bearing when loaded to the max recommended 35 lbs.
