Shows potential, but falls short. First off, these things are really thick. They stick so far out from the side of the hipbelt that your hands will bump them all the time. They get caught on brush when bush whacking. A slightly longer and thinner profile would not sacrifice volume and would not interfere with natural arm swing. Great product- Granite Gear rocks! I use these on my gear hauling pack- a Gregory Deva 60 (2007 Model) that wasn't made with hipbelt pockets. Great protection with some inside padding,and a nice waterproof zip, for your GPS or digital camera, as well as useful for snacks and other misc. small items one carries around when backpacking. Isn't a perfect fit for this pack, but it's close and they won'

Convenience item

This is a nice quality product which is no surprise since it is from Granite Gear.I had to return it for credit [...]It will not fit on Mystery Ranch Trance XXX or G7000 since the straps are wider than most other packs. Fits on 1 inch strap of waist belt.

Weight not correct

The pocket is 52 grams, not 40 grams as stated (i.e. almost half an ounce too heavy). Else you're hitting it with your arms while walking, but still very useful for small items.
