To lid or not to lid - Granite Gear Line Loc Lid Backpack Attachment

Bought this as an add-on to my Crown 60. Jury's out. Construction is solid, but it adds 25 percent weight to the pack, and doesn't sit well if the pack is not full. You're supposed to thread the shoulder pull-straps through it, which is a real hassle for taking the lid on and off. I don't bother. I bought this mostly for camera gear.
