Have several Osprey packs in different sizes so though I would try the Gregory Maya. I am returning it for two reasons 1. Heavy for a smaller pack 2. Useless hip belt pockets you can’t reach. Am going to try the Dueter trail 24 instead.
My friend has the Maya 18 and I was very impressed with the compact size and design. I am tired of trying to make a man's pack fit my small frame (5'4, 107 lbs). I ordered both the Maya 18 and the Maya 22 and decided on the 22 just for the little extra room. (They are identical in design, the 22 is just about an inch bigger in dimensions.) I was looking for a smaller pack that was lighter, had more features, and a place to attach my trekking poles.
I am a fan of Gregory Packs, so that is where I started. I wanted something without an internal frame in case I needed to fold it and put at the top of my backpacking pack. I had a 34L pack and I felt I could down size.
