Bit bulky, but well worth the great coffee!

by Sam, from NY, United States Written on November 11, 2015
I've had this press now for almost 2 years. It makes a great cup of coffee! I've taken it with me backpacking, car camping, and even traveling to Europe (where the coffee is nasty) and it's never let me down. The press filters out all the grounds (make sure your coffee is roughly ground - if it's finely ground it won't be filtered very well). Everytime I go camping or backpacking, I get someone who wants to mooch off my coffee!

Awsome cup of coffee

Great coffee press. Can be a little difficult to clean if you do not have access to water close by.

Not just for java

by Kitdog, Written on September 10, 2011
The GSI personal java press is billed as a coffee press with no mention of being used for tea. I took a chance on buying this in hopes that it could be used as a tea press. I was not disappointed. The press allows for the loose tea leaves to be fully immersed in boiling water... a perfect mate to the Jet Boil. The mug and filter pack away neatly within the pot. Assemble while your water is heating

makes great coffee

by UPSLOVESME, Written on September 10, 2011
I like to have my coffee. I've tried lots of different camping coffee devices and there are several good methods available. This press works for me because I can boil my water with a kettle, get my freezer bag breakfast going, and then get my coffee brewing. The press gets most of the grit out of regular grind coffee that you'd have in your kitchen, and I imagine if you had your coffee course g
