Most Helpful Negative Review not worth it
Had these for four months. I use them a couple of times a week for a mild amble through the woods. The interior lining is falling apart. The company says it is normal wear.

These shoes are very comfortable and light not to mention they look good on my feet. Extremely good design and high-quality construction. The leather feels extremely good to touch and it looks even better. The finish it also over high-quality and skill. These shoes make you very stable on your feet, very comfortable and relaxed. Had them on my feet for very long period of time and my feet never got really tired. Overall I love the shoes very much and I would recommend to anybody for the comfort and the looks

German hiking boots mean happy hikers.

by Ed, from CA, United States Written on December 3, 2022
Years ago I purchased a pair of Peter Glimmer custom boots. I still have them and thought I would never find a better pair of boots. I just bought a pair of Hanwag tashi boots. These boots are great quality and fit like a custom boot. Anyone on the fence because of the cost of these boots should

know they will become the least expensive boots you have ever owned because they will last forever.

Take your yak ( leather) for a hike

by Perezoso, from TN, United States Written on September 26, 2022
My previous boots with bonded soles had a disastrous blowout during my Bolivia jungle expedition in May. My trip had to be cut short and I ended up in Copacabana, with electrical tape and superglue barely holding my boots together. Upon returning home, I found that a lot of other hikers had suffered the same issues with bonded sole boots. I began searching for replacement boots, and chose the Hanwag Tashi. I need sturdy boots for what I do- big guy with a heavy pack on rough terrain. You could say it’s mule or yak country. These are what I needed- Stitched, replaceable soles; tough construction and comfortable after break-in. I’ve already broken them in and waxed them in preparation for my Guatemala mountain trip tomorrow. They’ll be taking me to Macchu Picchu , Scottish highlands and the Camino de Compostela in the near future. (and a return to Alaska in between). Bonus features of these boots- ball bearing lace anchors that are super smooth; a soft interior liner and yak leather upper. They were expensive, but I found an outfitter with a good discount. I should’ve skipped the aggravation and bought these first. I always tell my kids”never skimp on tires or footwear”
Pros:
  • tough n well designed
Cons:
  • Save your pennies
Best Used for:
  • Rough terrain and heavy pack

Fast Delivery

by Benjamin, from NJ, United States Written on November 4, 2020
These boots are very high quality. I originally ordered these boots from a different retailer who sent me the wrong size. It was their last pair in stock, so I was unable to exchange them. I saw that Campsaver offered the same boot in the correct size. Shipping was fast and delivery was on time. Very happy with my purchase.
Pros:
  • CRAFTSMANSHIP
  • DURABILITY
  • Fit and comfort
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Backpacking
  • HIKING

Good solid support

by Jerry S., from CA, United States Written on April 28, 2016
I bought these boots because I wanted to hike the JMT with a heavy pack. I didn't want to be 100 miles from nowhere and break my ankle. I've hiked over 200 miles in these boots and they hardly show any wear. Unlike other reviewers, I found the boots did need a break-in time. Also, this is not a light boot. This is a heavy duty, reasonably comfortable, hiking boot. The part I don't like is it uses 4 buckles to lace up the boot. This makes it easy to get your foot into the boot, but it gets to be kind of a pain to deal with 2 feet of laces all the time. Plus, one set of buckles is recessed back for some reason which makes it a little harder to hit when lacing up the boot. All things considered, it seems to be a quality boot that offers a good deal of support.
