Paul F's Review of Helinox Cot Lite

First of all - CampSaver has the best price around that I've found on the Helinox Lite Cot, and that's what initially attracted me to purchasing from them. I already knew I wanted to buy this cot, but went ahead and pulled the trigger with this online purchase through them, although I was hesitant because the description mentions something about it being an outlet/previous season stock. The package arrived in 2 days, per their promise. And from what I can tell, it's the same Lite Cot that I would have received had I ordered it from REI or some other large name, non-outlet store. The tag on the bag stated 2017, but I don't know if that's the model year or simply Helinox trademark year, etc. All I know is that this cot is brand spanking new and it actually ended up being the one with the 'grid' pattern on the fabric for the stuff sack and cot itself; I feel like this is the newer pattern, because all of the original images I've seen of the Lite Cot show the 'stripes' pattern on the fabric. I quickly unbagged everything and setup the cot without even looking at the directions - it's that simple. Two poles down the side, and the 4 supporting legs on the bottom. Others will say that it's sort of hard to get the support legs into place, but you just have to use your body leverage to get them to snap in - it's very straight-forward, and don't be afraid to let those DAC poles bend a little in order to get the plastic cups to snap into place. I had the thing setup in no time and could literally pick the entire thing up with a finger. I hesitantly sat down on it, but the construction seems insanely sturdy and I immediately knew how comfy this cot would be on camping trips or for an overnight friend. Disassembly is even quicker than assembly, and everything neatly rolls back up inside the cot fabric and back into the stuff sack. I cannot believe this thing only weighs 2.6 lbs. So pumped to get to try this thing out on my camping trip next weekend - no more thinking that I've cleared the ground away beneath me and then finding that annoying rock digging into my hip in the middle of the night!!!!
