So liked this tent, I bought it twice. The first destroyed in a house fire. Was ten years old and still in excellent shape. It is well made and thoughtfully designed over decades...
Everything about this tent is simple, quality and enjoyable. Ruggedness vs weight is well balanced for the money spent on 4-season, reasonably light tents. Quick setup, two large vestibules, the fabric of the inner tent is warm and dry, the infinitely adjustable doors and screens.
There is a tough footprint available that is excellent protection for the tent floor and adds a floor for the vestibules as well. it is secured with toggles and can be rolled up with the rest of the tent without issue. There is room for packs, etc. in one vestibule and dogs in the other. The vestibules have a good amount of floor space, having room to cook in nasty weather with pack and gear too.
The outer tent covers down to the ground covering the whole footprint, so it is excellent against the wind and rain or snow. When the doors are opened in the rain, the inner tent is still protected from the wet weather. Having the same door setup on either end gives you options.
We have experienced at least 50 mile per hour winds sustained for hours, with a security and stability, without a scar, where many tents would be very distorted, or blown down and damaged.
We have enjoyed every minute in and around it and this tent should last for decades.
Pros:
Balanced toward security in poor weather Quality Simplicity
Cons:
Balanced as is
Would recommend: Yes
