Most Helpful Positive Review The Nammatj 2 person 4 Season Tent
At first I was rather skeptical about spending upwards of 800 big ones on a tent due to the fact that I am just getting back into hiking for the first time in years. A friend of mine actually recommended I check out outdoorgearlab.com to help me decide what to buy. I read the reviews on all of their tents and narrowed my choices down to 3 tents. The Jannu, the Nammatj 2, and the third I can't remember. The only reason I went with the Nammatj 2 instead of the Jannu is because most of my backpacking will take place in NH. The White Mountains as many of you may know are notorious for drastic weat...

Tent as Advertised!

by Fletch, from KS, United States Written on November 29, 2018
This is my second Helleberg tent. Anjan2 and now the Nammatj2. Neither would be considered light for long distance hikes, however the added knowledge that either of these (or any of the Helleberg tents) would fail you in extreme conditions is not a consideration. The ease of setup and use is second to none. I have owned a dozen or more tents in my camping life. All of them were less expensive, but were far less the quality. Hence they are gone. None sold...given away. So far I have spent four winter nights camped in my Nammatj2, temps in the twenties, winds of Kansas at times near 40mph. No concerns about any stability issues. On a kayak trip my Anjan2 withstood winds that collapsed and shredded a fellow kayaker tent. I am a believer in the Helleberg tents. As long as they keep creating quality I will be long time customer and fan.

Worth every penny!

by Kevin, from NV, United States Written on July 28, 2017
When planning my trip to Rainier, I did a lot of research into which tent to buy. After reading what felt like a million different gear comparisons and personal reviews, I settled on the Hilleberg Nammatj 2. The price tag was high, but in reviews it exceeded all other tents on my shortlist in every other aspect. I decided to spend the money. I wasn't disappointed! This tent is awesome. It isn't the lightest tent, but the quality, strength, roominess & breathability of this tent more than offset the weight. This tent is very roomy inside, breathes well and looks great too! I took this tent up to Shasta and we had a horribly windy night at 10,000 feet. The Nammatj 2 stood up to the winds, while some of the other tents camped nearby weren't so lucky. This is now my go-to tent for any snow/winter outings. It is even breathable enough to use when the weather isn't so cold! Worth every penny!

Great tent

All around great tent. Used it recently in Shenandoah national park, going to take it out west this summer. Condensation wasn't great in Virginia humidity, but that's not what this tent is made for. Can't wait to take this out to mount Adams this summer.

Great allround tent

by David, from VICTORIA, Australia Written on April 3, 2014
Love almost everything about the tent.
Well built and rock solid, it will keep you safe and dry in any climate and weather condition you will find yourself in.

That said, after 3 nights I have found it collects a little bit of condensation.
It is also a little bit on the bulky side for backpacking.

Great tent.

by Ike, from WI, United States Written on April 3, 2014
I bought this for its versatile design, and the craftsmanship of Hilleberg tents. I backpack year round and I knew that I wanted something that could do snow and high winds, and also hard rain. Hilleberg does not disappoint. The Nammatj 2 is beefy, IF you can set up a tunnel tent. I've had experience with other similar designs from Hilleberg. Do a set up at home in your yard with all your stakes a
