For the money the hillsound crampons are great. - Hillsound Trail Crampon

I recently did a late winter hike/camp into the Dry River Wilderness and early into the hike we had to put on the crampons due to the extremely icy conditions. With fully loaded packs they performed well. Without the crampons we would not have been able to get into where we were going with the weight of our gear on our backs. We were able to negotiate some steep terrain where a fall with a pack on would not have been good. It is hard to say how they will last the test of time but the price made the Hillsound crampons well worth it.
