Goldilocks

by fevertree, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on April 22, 2020
The lugs are big enough, but not too big (I needed something like Salomon's Speedcross). The drop is small enough, but not too small (I needed something a little more than Altra's). Super light. The toe box is a little snug for tame trails but just right for steep and/or unstable surfaces like scree ascents to peaks.
Best Used for:
  • snow
  • Mud
  • steep trails
  • sree
  • off trail

Super traction speed racer

by Heath, from CA, United States Written on July 24, 2018
Just finished my first week with the Roclite 290. After destroying a pair of Nike Wildhorse 4s in 2 months (terrible update, terrible quality), I was going back and forth between the 290s and a pair of Salomon Speedcross or Altra Superiors. I sacrificed protection/cushion for these based on the stellar reviews of their traction and agility as I’ve been doing a bit of bouldering on my runs and really value being able to trust my footing. I do about 4-8 miles of SoCal Canyon trail/rocks. These were a blast going down soft loose trail and some jumps down rock outcroppings. I felt a sharp rock in my mid foot after 4 miles and was reminded of it for the rest of my run. I’m 6’4/200lbs and my form gets a little sloppy around then (especially in summer heat). You’re gonna get debris in them, which I get, as they’re low and a bit minimalistic. I definitely need to build ankle/lower leg strength to fully utilize these. I have a pair of altras coming for when I push my distance, but these are definitely going to be a favorite tool in the box for tricky short distance jaunts. Don’t know how durable these will be, but I plan on using these specifically rather than daily. Those more nimble and experienced can probably take them further.
Pros:
  • Super traction over variety of terrain
  • Laces can be dialed in well for desired fit
  • Breathe well
Cons:
  • Light Cushioning
Best Used for:
  • Road to trail
  • Trail/ Rocks
  • Multi terrain/ short/medium distance

Great Shoe!

by Craig, from TX, United States Written on July 2, 2018
Love the look and the fit of this shoe, love the performance on the trail even more! Black/Grey is nice looking shoe, fits my narrower foot like a glove. Passed the teenagers cool test and really feels good on the trail. My trails so far have not been highly technical or in wet weather, so can't speak to the performance on that level, but really love this great looking, feeling and performing shoe. Great price makes it even more worth it, so thanks Campsaver, nice job.
Pros:
  • Toe box and heel fit
Cons:
  • NONE
Best Used for:
  • trail hikes and runs

nice shies

I love these shoes. I'm not a fan of Nike and most other name brand shoes, so I decided to get something a little different. They're lightweight and comfortable. The color scheme matches anything, so I really don't have to worry about what I'm going to wear with them. Overall they're a good pair of shoes.
