Multiple Flame Settings & A Space Saver
I had been using the Coleman "Perfectflow" Fold N Go, which is a similar fold in half stove. However the Coleman had two settings being high flame and off. This JetBoil Genesis has multiple flame settings that actually work, so you can simmer foods. The supplied two light weight pots are great. The frying pan is ceramic coated with a light weight thick plastic lid. I love the folding handle on the frying pan, as it does not get hot. I also like how the large pot sits over the grates, as the pot goes around them so that it won’t slide off.
This is in no way scientific, but I originally tested ...

Efficient and High Quality
This is a very efficient controllable unit that makes camp cooking speedy! Before I could get my teabag and honey the water was boiling full steam! The ads are right about the perfection of french toast due to the evenness of heat on the pans, and the controllability of a light low simmer flame through a full nuclear powered boil. The unit is at times cumbersome and "pinchy" when you unfold it, as well as attaching the fuel canister. The other part I worry about is that when packed away the burner sits inside the large pot and one side seems to scratch the surface. When I first used it the entire unit seemed quite large to me as I have always had microgear, but was worth it to cook a riverside breakfast before fishing in just minutes (almost faster than at home!). The pot and pan seem durable on the interior, the exteriors scratch easily, but that's not a problem. Would be nice to have 2 lids, as it comes with one, and I will probably buy a medium sized water pot if there is one. The windshields are a bit flimsy and don't stay in place that well, if you are using a smaller portable table. Overall a few flaws that could be overcome - especially for the price. But overall worth it as I got a great campsaver discount, and I appreciate the perfection of the flame and heat control. Pretty amazing, coffee in a minute.
Pros:
- Fast, and conrollable
Cons:
- cumbersome, may scratch interior of pot during storage.
Best Used for:
- 2 or more people, car/RV camplng

Jetboil Genesis Base Camp System is the perfect stove for car camping! its compact size allows for a great usable stove without taking up precious cargo space in your vehicle. has a small footprint that includes pots and pans. simmer adjustments make for a better cooking experience as well. other stoves have two settings low power or super hot. so happy with this stove!

Jetboil Genesis 2
Purchased this one at CampSaver and got a very good deal. Stove is so easy to setup. Very potable. Boils water in 3 minutes. Best thing is you can use the green propane tank. I would definitely buy products of Jetboil.

Genesis basecamp stove
From what I can tell it should be a great camping stove. Only 2 problems is the windscreen mounting too the stove...very hard to slide into mounting slots on the bottom of burner unit and whether it will do much good. Also the 5 litre pot is not non stick as the frying pan. Removal of windscreen is also a pain. Will know more in the near future.

Base camp stove
Awesome. Perfect size, lots of connectivity for expansion. Like the way it all nestles together for easier stowing and portability. Certainly too large for back packing but perfect, as the name implies, for extended base camp.
