Have used different grippers and have found these to be our favourite. These grip very well and help with stability especially on icy streets. If you need extra for different terrain look for the Microspikes. Kahtoola products are well made. As with any grippers keep an eye on how they are mounted. Have lost one so make sure you get the correct size for your shoes or boots. These are expensive BUT after spending on cheaper ones these are WORTH the price, especially for safety.
Pros:
Excellent grip on streets and driveway
Cons:
None
Best Used for:
Flat ground (I.e not for approaches)
Would recommend: Yes

Bought two pairs for early Christmas gifts for very active young couple living in Colorado mountains. Most appreciated present I've given them thus far! It snowed about 6 inches within a few days and then got icy, but they had no problems walking their dogs or hiking with these spikes on.
Pros:
great price, excellent quality, easy to put on, light weight
Cons:
NONE
Best Used for:
mixed terrain
Would recommend: Yes
