JUST AS ADVERTISED

BOUGHT FOR USE WITH SMALL BOY SCOUT TROOP WHILE BACKPACKING. IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!
Most Helpful Positive Review Great workhorse filter
Solid working filter. Pumps fast and relatively easily. Water tastes fine. Filter element is easily replaceable, but other than backflushing it is not cleanable. Note that the Hiker Pro replacement filters are exactly the same filter with the inclusion of an extra filter screen to help keep the smaller dirt particles from plugging the paper/glass main filter. Ultralighters will cringe at the bulk/

Always a Katadyn Purifier

by Dave, from ID, United States Written on July 11, 2020
Always purchase these filters for long wilderness backpacking trips, maybe a bit bulkier than some out there, but they have always worked so well! Easy to maintain. My last one I had for many years and I went thru multiple filters before it was time to buy another.

Great compact and lightweight water filter. Very useful for multi-day backpacking trips. Crystal clear water and no dirt tasting water. Pump works effectively and fills containers quickly. Filters for packing in

by Jeff Albers, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on September 2, 2017
Searched and searched for a filter that is reasonably priced and effective. I have consumed water right out of rivers and streams for years but after reading about all the possible diseases recently I figured better to be safe. Love this little thing, fast effective and easy storage.

Writing this review to be entered into the campsaver prize giveaway. Another family member had this version and recommended it. We were not let down. Overall great product. It's fast filtering, easy to use, has nice storage, provides good tasting water. Worth every penny. Good service and fast shipping.

works and easy to use

I only get out there a few times a year so the filter should last awhile. I think it is rated for 200 gallons. It is replaceable and less than a third the cost of the ceramics.

Simple to use and does the job well

by sako, Written on September 10, 2011
This is my second one, and they're fantastic except for the fact that the intake fitting broke on the first one. It was about 2 years old and the thing broke off, and there is no repair for it. I usually sit the bottom on the ground so I can pump harder, but that's probably how the intake port broke. I'll be more careful now.
