Does what it does best!

Great filter - I used my old one for nearly a decade, but one time forgot to remove the filter after use, to store in a dry area - - do that and they last a long time, leave it in and it gets moldy. I've had the mechanical housing and pump forever - just keeps workin'!

replacement cartridge, works as described

I bought this for my almost 20 year old katadyn hiker. It arrived promptly, and fit perfectly. The new model also has an additional sleeve that is supposed to extend the life of the filter element by keeping more dirt on the outside. Haven't tested that out yet but seems to make sense. Not sure if there will be harder to pump from the extra membrane but I guess we will see

Great Price

I like Campsaver because they have exactly what you need at the best price. Combine that with a discount or offer and it is hands down your best option when purchasing. I needed a replacement cartridge for my Katadyn Hiker Pro filter and to my luck they had it at the best possible price I could find.

Doesn't last long in Boundary Waters

I use these with the gravity filter in the Boundary Waters. I always paddle out 50 yards or so from shore to avoid shoreline gunk but only get about 15-20 gallons per filter. Basically it is one 6-7 day trip per filter. I would recommend to a friend that has already has the gravity filter or hiker pump. Otherwise I would recommend going with a brand that has a cleanable filter.
