I have purchased a lot of different camping stoves. Primarily for boiling water and cooking small meals. I have Solo Stoves, Emberlit, Bushbox and Firebox backpacking stoves, Primus multi-fuel stoves, Propane stoves of various types, Alcohol burners, etc. You name it, I probably have one. But, for pure efficiency and safety using a wood burning stove, nothing beats the Kelly Kettle. The Kelly Kettle will boil water, using less fuel, in a shorter time than any other stove I own. Plus, it will do it with less fuel than I could have ever imagined. And, with the Hobo stove sitting on top of the fire base of the Kelly Kettle, I can cook pretty much anything else I want to cook, while camping. Admittedly, it is a bit larger to pack, but everything nests inside of the bottom of the kettle. So, it doesn't really take up any more room than my various other stoves and the cook set needed to use them. Plus, I don't have to carry fuel. On top of that, I can boil water with small sticks that I would normally use as kindling for starting a fire.
I'm 65 years old and I have spent a lot of time in the woods in many different countries. I've cooked in all kinds of weather using just about every kind of fire and setup you can name. But, for efficiency and safety, especially using wood for fuel, I will choose my Kelly Kettle over anything else I've ever used, from now on.
Did I say, Kelly Kettles are Awesome?
