sarah russell's Review of Kelty TN2 Tent - 2 Person, 3 Season
Fifth star is pending the purchase of the footprint that you have to buy separately. I've been using a tarp underneath which has kept the floor dry. I've backpacked with this tent for two seasons now and it has held up VERY well. Earlier this spring, i was in massive, MASSIVE thunderstorms and wind storms at the beach. The poles held up well and the rain fly kept me extremely dry despite my campground neighbors getting drenched. I was even still able to use the space outside of the tent beneath the fly to keep my belongings dry. I still haven't exactly figured out how to assemble the stargazing feature from inside of the tent - but I also haven't been able to sleep with the fly partially off due to having some backpacking neighbors and I wanted some privacy. Definitely a durable tent- I will say that part of the mesh/netting of the doors is beginning to stretch a little bit, but I love this tent and will contact Kelty if the mesh begins to tear.
Pros:
rain fly STRONG and stays dry
Cons:
Footprint is not included
tent floor thin without underpad
Best Used for:
Backpacking, car camping
