Most Helpful Positive Review Great Tent - Especially for the price.
This is a great car camping tent. One of my favorite things about this Kelty is that it comes with really sturdy, durable tent poles. Many larger 4+ tents on the market, especially the Kingdom series have fragile poles to conserve weight but no one's counting ounces while car camping. I also like th...

Bad rain fly design

by Creamcheese, from MT, United States Written on June 28, 2018
I have to wonder why Kelty did not design a better rain fly. It is shorter on the door side (front) and on the back than on the two sides. While car camping with this tent during a sudden and heavy rainstorm I spent more time bailing water out of the tent than I did sleeping!yes, the rain dripped through the back walll creating a lake inside of the tent. I had come to expect more of Kelty! This rain fly is worthless. If you devise a more functional fly to work with this tent, I truly hope you will replace the original fly for other customers like myself who find the current fly inadequate.

It’s good for what I bought it for

by Stacy, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on April 29, 2018
It packs up small and is light enough to carry on the motorcycle. The zipper on the door sticks a lot. Doesn’t seem like it’ll last a long time but we’ll see. I’m 5’4” and I can stand in the middle just slightly ducking my head. It fits a queen air mattress with room to put a couple bags. Not bad for the price.
Pros:
  • Light and packs small.
Cons:
  • Zippers

Great value

by Troop316, from PA, United States Written on March 23, 2018
Our Boy Scout troop has used this tent for several years. They are very durable and performed well in all weather conditions including torrential rains and high winds. They are also easy to set up. Hard to find a better tent for this price.
Pros:
  • Low cost
  • durable
  • Easy to set up
  • Weathertight
Cons:
  • None

First on-line tent purchase

by Chuck, from LA, United States Written on September 1, 2017
So far so good! Greater than 30% cheaper than competitors prices for the same tent and compact enough to not be in the way in the canoe. We don't use it until this weekend but expect to be as happy with all aspects as we have been with our Kelly tents in the past.

Not the Kelty 4 I know...

by tom y., Written on July 4, 2017
Bought this because I have been so pleased with a Kelty 4 I bought many years ago and is now on its last legs. This was so disappointing I returned it--definitely not the same tent. Much more awkward set up due to pole sleeves instead of hooks, much flimsier material, fly pole redesign seems weaker and allows for less coverage.

Not as pictured

by Camper, Written on February 24, 2017
Note that the tent is not as pictured. The continuous pole sleeves reach almost to ends of poles with only one hook rather two at each end. This makes it difficult to insert and remove the pole from the sleeve and a bit clunky for one-person setup.

Not bad

by Richard N., Written on August 13, 2016
Now I know why it was on sale. The box was sealed with tape but when I opened the package and set up the tent to see how it looked the tent had never been unfolded. The poles however were no longer bungied together, making setup a bit more frustrating. The bottom seems flimsy but it'll do for a few treks if I'm careful, other than that it's exactly what I paid for. I'm happy with it
