Used a Camping Gaz for many years but fuel is no longer available.
This Kovea product is a big improvement and fuel will be available for as long as I need it. Install the mantle (comes with a spare). Using a Bic, light it on fire with the glass off and wait for it to take its final shape. Don't be concerned about the fold in the new mantle. Once you burn it, the shape will be perfect. Turn the gas on briefly on to complete the burn-in process. Gas off, install the globe and you're done.
Now when you need light, install*** the unit on to the fuel can, turn the gas on low, push the igniter and you have light. Easy to regulate the brightness. Unit is well constructed and will provide service for many years.
***(censor would not let me use the word "scr_w"! ...'isn't family friendly')
Pros:
well constructed
Easy to use and regulate
Reasonably priced
Plastic carry case included
Cons:
Globe is breakable; take care
Best Used for:
Base camp lighting
Backcountry use
Would recommend: Yes
