I wanted a trailruning shoe with GTX to prevent my socks from always getting very wet and dirty. Dirty socks and feet are worse than dirty shoes! This shoe does the job well. The shoe wear a little narrow but fits feet quite well on movements. The traction is great that it feels like the bottom grabs on uneven surface instead of sliding and slipping. The insole is comfortable with Ortholite, the best there is. GTX is the way to go against the elements of both trails and off-trails while keeping feet clean and dry. My objective is by the end of an adventure, I want to take off my socks and feet are not caked with dirt, sand, or hours worth of stinky fungus. That's my experience and expectation from thousands of miles of trails. No more cheap ordinary snicker style shoes that sells expensively and get my socks and feet dirty.
