Excellent Lightweight and Comfortable Hiking Boots
I’d been looking to replace my old pair of Meindl boots for hiking/ basecamp approaches. I’ve tried a variety of brands over the years and am really happy with the La Sportiva. V reasonable price and incredibly comfortable. The boots do have a narrow fit (which suits me) but true to size otherwise. Very lightweight and superb grip and ankle support - waterproof but probably compromises some warmth in keeping the weight down. So probably not ideal for winter. Have used in the mountains and they hold up well with a heavy pack and tricky terrain. Bought a second pair already to have in reserve.

Ripped on the side, but held up pretty well
These boots did pretty well on a recent elk hunt in Colorado. We had water, snow, and a ton of rocks to deal with, and my feet stayed dry almost the whole time. My only complaint is the underwhelming durability. The boots got a slight rip on the left foot arch that allowed water to get my feet wet. I would recommend if you're not going to be rough country. Otherwise I would look for something a little more rugged.
Pros:
- Price
- COMFORT
- Traction
Cons:
- durability
- Water proofing
- cold feet
Best Used for:
- Easy to moderate terrain

Seems Better for Hiking, not Trekking
This is moderately-priced boot that appears to be well constructed. The sole has a lot more flex than a trekking book (like the Trango), so probably better suited for hiking. Unfortunately, the toe box seems a little narrow and consequently the boot feels like it constricts the top of the foot. It helps that La Sportiva uses European sizing, with half-sizes available, so there are more sizing choices. However, it's too bad that La Sportiva doesn't make their boots in wide sizes.
