I recommend these boots unless they are defective

by Serhii, Verified Owner from Kharkiv, Ukraine Written on August 2, 2023
Great-looking boots, leather upper, gore-tex membrane, grippy and durable sole (Vibram).

It's just that they were defective.
There was a hole on the side of the boot, I'll take it to the shoe workshop to fix it.

I am disappointed

Aggressive break-in!!!

by Robert C. ADK 46er, from NY, United States Written on January 12, 2022
I received these boots on a Friday, tried them on and they seem to fit well. I kept them on around the house to see how well they felt. I decided to use them on my planned hike the next day, and pack my other boots in my backpack. We were hiking two Peaks in the Santanoni Range of the Adirondacks. After 16 miles, over 4500 feet of elevation gain, using microspikes and snowshoes for the entire hike, I would say these boots have been broken in. Temperature was in the single digits all day. These boots are comfortable, stable, workmanship and quality seem very good as well. My son is a fit, avid, fast hiker and backpacker, he swears by his La Sportiva boots and shoes. These are my first pair of La Sportiva’s, and my first impression is very high. Salomon GTX were my previous boot, and are great as well.
Pros:
  • Stability, comfort and fit, not a heavy boot
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • All types of hiking and backpacking.

Zero Break-in Requrired

by Kenneth, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 6, 2021
Ordered these boots late on Friday, they arrived next Thursday in great condition. After a quick visual inspection, I unveiled them in Point Lobos (Monterey, California) on a 6.5 mile easy hike. These boots were comfortable from the first minute I put on them; no break-in is required. The weather was moderate (mid-60s) thus GTX waterproofing was neither an issue or a benefit. However, I feel additional peace of mind these boots will work well in this region.
