I love these shoes for tougher alpine approaches including rough trails, off trail, and class 3 and 4. I've even pulled quite a few mid 5th moves and although they aren't rigid under the sole, the grip incredibly well. The toe is super protective. I can run in them comfortably, but there are comfier trail runners. Also used hiking 26 miles a day on the Tahoe rim Trail and they performed great. Can't say enough about these.

I bought these as both tough trail runners and as hiking shoes when I don't carry a heavy pack or go into rough country. The sole of these Raptors is very sturdy, I even shovel with them at work. So, easy to run or hike on a rocky trail, and will be great when the wet weather comes, and the first snows. The padding around the ankle and tongue make them super comfortable (I wear them all day long at work landscaping). I am a size 43, and always use Sportivas be it for light trail runners or mountaineering boots and everything in between. Being female with a narrow heel, wide forefoot and medium high arch, this brand always fits well with the addition of Superfeet insoles, and I find they hold up quite well.

I really like the shoe itself. Fits well and sturdy on rough terrain. But the sole is falling apart after just a couple of runs.
