Hannathema's Review of Lems Boulder Leather Casual Boot - Men's

I have unfortunate feet. I am 30 and am facing surgery on both feet for bunions that started forming when I was about 11. I chalk this up to pronating ankles and general skeletal posture. I ignored the issue most of life, though I stopped wearing heels regularly 7 years ago. Still pain all the time. I started researching and discovered that “natural foot posture” footwear and started wearing Altra. I always loved dr. Martens though and missed my boots though they brought me agony. I decided on the Lems Boulder Boot, and absolutely love them. They bring comfort to a new level and still look edgy enough when worn with cuffed jeans. I’m going to try “toe spacers” and orthopedic inserts and may just be able to avoid surgery altogether. I wear a U.S. women’s 10 and ordered the 43. They are roomy but I am happy for the space because it is winter in Michigan and I will be wearing them with mid-heavy weight wool socks (ordering Injinji wool hikers.) For warmer weather I think I will try the 42. The leather is supple and has room to stretch. Overall, I love these boots and recommend them wholeheartedly.
Pros:
  • Fit
  • Quality Construction
  • Ankle support
  • edgy-enough look for boot people
  • wide-toe box
Cons:
  • None that I can see
Best Used for:
  • Everything except Muck boot conditions
