Savman's Review of Lowa Renegade GTX Lo Hiking Shoes - Men's

I haven't had a pair of Lowa's in a long while, but I have tried soooo many different types of shoes over the years. I buy a new pair of low-cut hikers every year, typically, and in the winter I wear a mid-cut. I had a mid-cut boot from Lowa about 20 years ago and it was a great hiker, and never forgot about it. There's really only one shoe that I loved so much that I purchased three pair of - then it was discontinued by Adidas. That was the Men's Terrex Fast X GTX Low. I'm 225 and 6'1", so I'm a heavier person/large build, and the Adidas shoe I liked was the best blend of max support and great comfort along with longevity I've had in any shoe, ever. Never would've guessed! I only got the first because it was on sale, then I fell in love with it, and I got two more pair. I've been searching like crazy over the past year to find a replacement for that shoe, and I tried/returned about 8-10 different pair, but nothing was as good. Earlier this year I tried the current edition of Lowa's Renegade GTX and this is the one. It lacks a bit of the stiffness/support of the Adidas, but overall, it's the best I've tried lately. Extremely high quality, metal eyelets, nubuck leather, an open quick-lace metal eyelet at the top is superb for quick on/off, Vibram soles are always nice, and overall a SOLID buy. HIGHLY recommend this shoe if you value comfort, support, grippy sole/traction, and high quality.
