I have another Mammut jacket that is lighter weight in the same size. This one does seem to run a little bigger. I'm 5'3" 125 pounds and bought the medium. The sleeves are long and I could have gotten away with the small. The only problem would have been the chest would have been too snug. There is plenty of room for layering. Can't wait to try it out in the bitter cold.

My girlfriend purchased this jacket after seeing my jacket, the men's eijerjoch, since this was the women's equivalent. This past weekend was her first weekend using it, and we were met with -14 degree Fahrenheit temperatures, -30 degrees with windchill and she said she didn't feel an ounce of cold. I used my men's eijerjoch, and I would say the same. The Biwak jacket is light in weight for a heavy down, and adjusts well to your surrounding temperatures to provider comfort from 30 degrees Fahrenheit and below. I'd highly recommend either of these products. In terms of fit--in my experience Mammut products are very "true to size". The ONLY complaint I could cite with the women's jacket is the hood size; my girlfriend's helmet is a Smith Variance and she had trouble zipping the jacket all the way up part her mouth when the hood was up. I have not had this issue with the men's version.

I spent a lot of time reading online reviews of very warm winter jackets and decided on this one to replace my very warm, but men's-sized & bulky, winter jacket. Winter has not arrived here yet so I haven't been able to test its comfort level at 20 below zero (or colder—I live in northern MN), but I like the fit and the features: stretchy fabric wrist-warmer cuffs w/thumb holes, covered-placket zipper, adjustable hood, etc. Now if it would just get cold, I could wear it.

Very warm jacket, not bulky, very light, high quality Swiss construction, good length, covers the butts, the color is awesome, no cold spots even in very cold and windy conditions, true to size.
A little pricy!!!

Unless I'm hiking or skinning I'm one of those girls that's ALWAYS cold. I 've been on the hunt for the perfect combination of warmth, style, and function in a jacket for years...I've found all three in this jacket. Of course you'll need a shell for snowy days, but otherwise its awesome. Its super warm! The only drawback that I can see so far is that there isn't a zippered pocket inside the jacket for my i-pod.
